hello world! I'm Halley, but you can call me Hal. I'm that queer leather-clad college drop out druggie whore your parents, teachers, and 80's PSA commercials warned you about. I pretty much do nothing online except post my artworkI've been drawing for as long as I can remember. my mother still has crayon drawings of mine from when I was a little toddler. I started drawing digitally once I got into middle school, got into selling custom artwork in high school, and I haven't stopped since. I've been working on my characters and their stories for years now, some of these silly creatures I've held onto for many years nowI've been through college on and off studying computer science and computer hardware repair. I've always been attached to computers and technology as a kid. I just love learning about how things work. because of this, my place always looks like an old library's basement, full of boxes of VHS tapes and half-functioning AV equipment. I own and even repaired a lot of old junk, such as VHS players, laserdisc players, cassette boomboxes, and multiple vintage Apple computers. (I have owned the same iMac since age 10, and still refuse to get rid of it, I just keep beefing that motherfucker up to keep up in the 2020s)for now?? I just do a lot of odd jobs, freelance design work, and art commissions to covers the bills. it can be tough, but I love what I do. it gets harder every day with all the AI and NFT and automated algorithm bullshit trying its best to replace the humanity that is creativity, but ah well, what can you do, gotta try my best to pay the bills somehow. all and all, I'm just a strange cartoonist trying to survive :]

Q: What do you use to draw?
A: Wacom Intuos tablet using Clip Studio Paint on macOS, either for full drawing or only coloring + effects with linework done with paper and ink scannedQ: Can I draw your characters?
A: art and other stuff for me featuring my weird little characters is always appreciated and I usually sit in my chair and scream out of excitement when I see it for at least 2 hours so please do! I'll automatically love it and appreciate you for taking time out of your day to brighten mine and will most likely add it to my character's Toyhouse gallery (my online equivalent of hanging your art on my fridge)Q: Can I draw you?
A: yea sure, you can draw me too, I draw myself a hell of a lot so you can too if you really want, I don't mind. just don't draw anything too weird with me thanksQ: Can you draw my characters?
A: if you are asking for a free gift art, then 99% of the time it'll be no. if you are asking for a paid commission, then sure!Q: I have no monies, can I haz free gift of me OC?

A: 99% of the time I only do gifts for close friends, mutual followers, or inspirations. and if you have to beg for a gift, it's no longer a gift, it's a demand, and I don't do thoseQ: What's on your Patreon?
A: Honestly it is the best way to see my art online. When I post my art anywhere else publicly, I have to compress the image to less than half its original resolution and add a big bold chunky watermark logo over the artwork. With how bad AI is now just scraping over every inch of the internet to fill datasets without permission, compensation, or notification, sadly that means I have to protect it by lowering the quality significantly. Therefore, if you want to see my art in full size and watermark free and clear, I have to make it private now. However, access to everything in my Patreon is only $1 a month, as cheap as possible, to try to make it as accessible as I can. You get not only all finished artwork that I post, but also sketches, WIPs, unfinished art, abandoned projects and alternate versions of artwork, and more as a thanks for the support and understanding. A: I do sometimes! on each of my social media profiles I usually list if I am currently accepting art trades on that site or not. I usually do art trades with friends and mutual followers however, but I'm not always super strict about itQ: What is the best way to talk to you?

BASIC RULES/POLICIES

> I have the right to deny any commission for any reasons, do not argue with me to draw a commission that I disagree to work on> if you plan on using my artwork for any form of NFTs, your commission request will be automatically denied, you will be placed on my blacklist, and I will no longer do any further business with you> if you plan on adding my artwork to any kind of AI training dataset or plan to use AI to manipulate or create new images based on my artwork, your commission request will be automatically denied, you will be placed on my blacklist, and I will no longer do any further business with you> if you plan on using my artwork to sell as merch of your own (physical art prints, shirt designs, stickers/buttons, Patreon/Kickstarter rewards, etc) there will be extra fees added on top of the price of your commission. the amount will vary on a case by case basis depending on the volume planned to be sold and amount of work done for the commission> payment must be given up front to avoid scams. I will not begin working on your commission unless at least 50% of the total cost of your commission has been paid> once I have accepted your commission and have received payment, you may message me to ask on the status of your commission and I will update you when I can> once your commission has been started, I will send a screenshot or compressed and watermarked version of your commission sketch for approval. at this time, you can request any adjustments, changes, additions, or other input. after any edits have been made and approved, line art and coloring will begin. if you have only partially paid for your commission, I will not begin any further progress until the remainder owed has been paid> if your commission has been completed and you want a minor change or fix (for example, you find miscolored or floating pixels, I forgot a small part of a character's design, coloring error, etc) please message me. I cannot do anything for a major change such as a change of outfit, pose, or character(s) featured once a commission is complete/past the line art stage, so make sure you specify what you want in your commission request when ordering and give corrections and requests for major changes in the sketch stage as stated in the previous statement above> when your commission is complete, by default I will post it to my social media profile(s) depending on where you ordered the commission from. if you would prefer to keep your commission private, make sure you let me know. I can either post the artwork as an anonymous commission or I can avoid posting the commissions publicly, whichever you prefer> it is recommended that you save or backup any and all commissions or other artwork that you may receive from me as I may clear my social media posts from time to time, though I do try to back up these pieces to both my own computer and cloud storage. I'm willing to resend any copies of artwork to you if needed, just send me a message and I'll get to you as soon as I can. do keep in mind that while I try to keep track of everything, things happen and hard drives may corrupt, storage clouds may mess up, social media sites may go down, and at that point nothing can be done and I am not to be held responsible for lost art pieces after a certain amount of time (1 year after commission has been completed)

SHIPMENT POLICIES

> for applicable traditional art pieces, if you wish to have your finished commission piece shipped to you, you will need to provide me with your full name and address/P.O. box. alongside your payment info> keep in mind that any extra fees are there to cover the cost of envelopes, postage, and protection for the artwork to avoid damage in shipment> I am shipping from the U.S. so for those outside of the states I apologize for the extra international shipping fees. I cannot guarantee package tracking for mail sent internationally, and I apologize for any inconvenience this causes> I may not be able to ship to all countries. when discussing payment options, please tell me which country you're in and I will check if I can mail it to you or not. you will not be charged for shipping fee if mailing to your location is unavailable, and you will still receive the full digital copy of your artwork> after the artwork is complete and packaged, I will send you a pic of the envelope to confirm that the address is correct as well as to keep record of the package's condition. once everything is approved and the package is sent to the post, I am not responsible for any shipping delays, damages, or lost mail. I will not give refunds for any shipping related issues, as that is sadly out of my control

REFUND POLICIES

> if your commission has not yet been completed, you can request a refund for any reason (you are no longer interested in the commission, no longer owning or using the character(s) featured in the commission, being unsatisfied with the speed of commission progress, finance issues requiring that money elsewhere, etc) keep in mind that you cannot request a refund if your commission has already been completed> please note that if you have paid using PayPal or had to convert any currency into USD, the amount of money you receive back may not be 100% equal to the amount of money you have sent originally. it is inconvenient, but there is sadly nothing I can do to address this due to PayPal's service fees and currency exchange fees> if I haven't begun your commission or I am in the process of doing the first rough sketch that has not been finished and seen or approved yet, I can give a full refund. any artwork or files related to your commission will not be sent and will be deleted> if I have completed your commission sketch and it has been previously approved and I have begun work on the line art, I can give a refund of 50% of what was paid. any artwork or files related to your commission will not be sent and will be deleted, unless stated otherwise> if I have completed your commission's line art and have begun coloring and shading, I can give a refund of 25% of what was paid. any artwork or files related to your commission will not be sent and will be deleted, unless stated otherwise> if you request a refund by the time your commission is nearly complete (all lines, coloring, and/or shading is complete, and all that is left is details/clean up or the addition of a background, signature, or watermarks) I will not give any refunds past this point. I can finish last minute work and send your commission rush order if you are still interested, otherwise it will be deleted

ART USAGE/REPOST POLICIES

> you can use your commission piece as icons/banners/promotional artwork for your social media as long as credit is given to me for the artwork somewhere on your profile page. you can also use your commission piece as desktop backgrounds, phone wallpapers, screensavers, or printed yourself for physical wall art or similar for your personal private non profit use> you can use and repost any of my artwork you have commissioned from me online to your own social media as long as credit for the artwork is given to me in your post, either tag me on social media or link back to my Carrd or other social profiles
> if you're adding your commission to your character's Toyhouse gallery and/or profile, please credit my Toyhouse as an on-site artist instead of linking an offsite profile if possible> when reposting my artwork online, please use the compressed and watermarked version of my artwork. you will be given a full resolution and watermark free version of your artwork for personal use and a compressed version with a watermark for public sharing. when posting online please use the watermarked version just to avoid art theft, copying, AI dataset scraping, etc> you may not use my artwork to make any monetary profit once completed. this includes making physical prints, stickers, shirts, etc with my artwork and selling it. if you are caught doing this, you will be placed on my blacklist and I will no longer do any further business with you> if you use my artwork for any form of NFTs, you will automatically be placed on my blacklist and I will no longer do any further business with you> if you use my artwork for any form of AI dataset training or AI image generation, you will automatically be placed on my blacklist and I will no longer do any further business with you

BLACKLIST

> by sending me a commission request, having it approved, and sending me full payment, I assume and expect all clients to follow all rules listed previously unless told otherwise> if you break any of the rules listed previously, I may contact you about it. If you hear me out and fix whichever action(s) went against the T.O.S. and agree to avoid breaking T.O.S. requests in the future, we should have no further issues> however, if you become aggressive, ignore my requests to uphold my T.O.S., block me, or otherwise try to avoid the situation and refuse to work with me to meet my T.O.S. or show any behaviors that can be seen as scamming or theft of my work, I may place you on my commission blacklist> individuals placed on the following list will not be allowed to commission me or purchase any artwork from me in the future. this list is public is so that other fellow artists can have a fair warning of individuals who may try to pull similar stunts to them as well, this list is not meant to be a personal attack, just a heads up for other artists in my position> (currently no blacklisted users! good on you guys! <3 )

Patreon is the complete art archive in full quality + other art not shared elsewhere, and Ko-fi is where I accept commission payments and use it like a tip jar, think like Patreon Lite.
